Hello Fellow Deviants.
My role and responsibility is Starfleet.
Mission: To initiate change in the Wasatch Valley and set the LDS People on a new course.
It's a little personal.
Our work here is to produce comics for the LDS People. I've approached this work from a few different angles, like going the Photoshop route. At times when I'm working on models for a render I think to myself, 'I could have already had this done in Photoshop.' I like the potential I see using 3D models in comic illustration, from concept to the final render. Before Blender was my starting point. I had access to a educational install of 3DS Max, had my hands in Maya for a little bit, still use ZBrush sometimes but mostly I work in Blender and Daz Studio. My workflow is all over the place and I have to invest just as much of my time being a family and business man. However, I do believe we can and will accomplish our mission.
I was exporting characters from Daz Studio 4.9 into Blender where I had a set built. Lately, though, I've been reversing the process: use Blender to build the sets and export the sets for use in Daz Studio where the characters live. The iRay render engine in Daz Studio 4.9 is competitive with the Blender Cycles engine. However I personally prefer the straight forward approach to 3D modeling of Blender over Daz. But Daz Studio does posing very well and I would actually save time using Daz to render.
If you see anything you would like to critic upon please feel welcome. Also, if you see any asset that I might be able to offer then ask.
I check in here once in a while.
